Rebecca Minkoff Takes LA

Last week fellow blogger It Girl Leah and I headed to the LOOKBOOK x Rebecca Minkoff DENIM Launch Party at Confederacy LA. The Hollywood boutique was transformed into a full on party complete with cocktails, a graffiti wall, and music by DJ Chris Kennedy. Party goers got a first look at the Rebecca Minkoff DENIM. The line offers five different styles of denim in five different colors, along with two t-shirt styles. I’m usually not much of a jeans & t-shirt kinda girl, but this line has me seriously thinking otherwise.

Rebecca Minkoff DENIM supports the No Kid Hungry initiative with each purchase helping a hungry child in need with up to 20 meals. The line is truly a bi-coastal effort with the garments inspired by the streets of New York City — which also gives the jeans their namesake — and manufactured in the heart of Downtown LA.

My favorite piece from the line is the printed Bleecker Skinny Jean. Printed denim is the perfect way to pull together a casual, yet chic, look with minimal effort. You can easily pair these jeans with a v-neck tee and either heels, for a dressier look, or a pair of sneaks, for the on-the-go fashionista. While this line is a bit pricier than my normal go-to shops, the high-quality products and goodwill initiatives make any purchase seem like a worthwhile investment!

Get The Look: Less Is More

The always stylish Mrs. Carter was spotted out and about in NYC with hubby Jay-Z looking nothing less than fly. Beyonce’s white Helmut Lang blazer paired with black leather shorts creates a monochromatic look that’s made all the better by the pop of color from her mint green heels — a must have color this season. Queen Bey even infuses a few hipster-esque elements into her look by way of her black bowler hat and thick circle shades. Not to mention those killer legs that really steal the spotlight!

This simple, yet posh, ensemble is great for a summer date night or even some day time shopping. Throw on a basic tee underneath the blazer and your outfit is complete. Mixing classic menswear items with feminine pieces gives the look an effortlessly chic feel. While $700 for the Helmut Lang blazer might be a hefty price tag for most of us — we can’t all be Beyonce — I pulled together a few pieces to recreate Bey’s look on a dime.

Although I may be bit biased, Beyonce always manages to look absolutely flawless and this ensemble is no exception. This look is so simple and easy to dress up, dress down, or just have fun with to make it a look all your own.
