Get The Look: Ball Out Like Rihanna

Bad girl RiRi, the style icon as always, was spotted out and about in New York last week in a must-have Balmain Mint Green Leather Skirt, Balmain Printed Silk Blouse, and Pointed Toe Louboutins. Her look totaled upwards of $7,000, — cue “Pour It Up” — but if you’re ballin’ on a budget like myself that price tag seems extremely astronomical! Never fear, I’ve found a few pieces to pull together a similar look for less than a fraction of the price.

Leather, in a variety of colors, is a definite trend this season and can be found at just about every retailer for a reasonable price. The skater style skirt, sported by Rihanna, is also a clear front runner in silhouettes, making this look all the easier to duplicate. After a little online shopping — one of my favorite past times — at a few of my top shops I wrangled up a leather skirt, printed blouse, and pointed toe heels that could give RiRi’s look a run for her money.

Watch Out For…The Watch

If you haven’t caught on already by now, then you should know that Spring is my favorite season. One of the must-have accessories this Spring is the perfect watch to complement your look. I’m a sucker for any kind accessory–rings, bracelets, you name it & I want it–but I tend to go through them like water. I usually try not to splurge when it comes to accessories, and my Spring watches are no exception. Luckily for all of us broke girls out there, I’ve managed to wrangle up some great deals.

Target–the life saver, as always–isn’t new to making designer labels more accessible and they really nailed it with their new collection La Mer for Target. The retailer is offering La Mer watches for an average of just about $35. Considering that’s less than half of La Mer’s typical $90+ price point, count me in! These watches are available in an array of colors and styles, but my pick is the Simple Wrap watch in Mint Green. If you’re just looking for a fun, simple addition for your accessory collection, I’d have to say that the Target watch gives the similar La Mer option a run for its money. This watch is the ideal every day accessory to add a little pop of color to your ensemble.

As an avid Amazon peruser, I never hesitate to pass on a good online shopping deal. When I came across my most recent purchase, a rose gold-plated Boyfriend watch, my mouth almost dropped out of sheer shock. For a mere $8– I repeat, $8– I quickly became the proud owner! Although I did snag this watch on sale, the average price of around $50 is still quite a good deal. I almost feel guilty accepting the amount of compliments I’ve gotten–keyword being almost– and I’d say this find was WELLLL worth it. The Geneva brand watch I purchased on Amazon is a very close runner-up to a similarly styled Michael Kors Boyfriend watch, which runs for about $275.

If you’re looking to watch the clock in style this season, without breaking the bank, keep your eyes and ears open! You never know when a good deal might pass you by.
